Valentine’s month is nearing, so this is a great time to start planning on getting your friends together for a themed party. You can play a marathon variation of romcom bingo or opt for a speedier 30-ball Valentine’s Bingo! Here’s how to play both variations and some more tips to make your party one to remember.

Valentine’s 30-ball bingo card

Below, you will find an example of a Valentine’s 30-ball bingo card. 30-ball Bingo is faster than the usual game, so it’s great for a quick bit of fun during your Valentine’s party.

What makes this different than regular 30-ball Bingo? Well, you can give out your party pink, heart-shaped daubers, or the winner could get Valentine-themed prizes. Chocolates, flowers, or maybe a dinner voucher – perfect for sharing with someone special or treating yourself! The winner is the person who makes the full house and shouts Bingo first!

Romcom bingo card

Here’s a romcom bingo card you can use during the Valentine’s marathon month. A bit below, you’ll find a detailed explanation of how to play romcom bingo, but remember to print out the card so you and your friends can keep track!

How to play Valentine’s 30-ball Bingo

For playing 30-Ball Bingo, you’ll need specific materials: a Valentine’s 30-Ball Bingo card, with a 3×3 grid without free spaces and numbers ranging from 1 to 30. You’ll also need bingo balls or numbered tokens, each labelled with a number from 1 to 30, to draw randomly during the game. You will also have to get some daubers or pens so that the players can cross out the numbers – why not make them pink or heart-shaped?

Here are the steps to play:

  1. Each player gets a card.
  1. Decide on the winning pattern; at 30-ball Bingo, most go with the full house only.
  1. Make the game Valentine’s themed by decorating your living room with pink balloons, heart-shaped cushions, and similar seasonal decorations. Serve pink cupcakes and heart cookies!
  1. The player that wins should get a Valentine-themed prize, perfect for their significant other and them.
  1. You can play the game over and over again!

How to play Romcom bingo

Everyone loves Romcoms, especially watching them throughout the entire month. Valentine’s 30-ball Bingo is a speedy game, but this Bingo can go over weeks.

The goal: Watch as many romcoms in a certain time frame that you and your group of friends agree upon. Make sure to make one thing clear – whether you’ll be able to cross out the movies you’ve seen beforehand or you’ll have to watch them again.

Free Space: This is a gimme and can be marked off by all players immediately, helping you achieve a pattern quicker.

Fun variations: You can make this Bingo task-based, where a player would have to complete a task based on the movie on the sheet. For example, dress in an all-pink outfit for Pretty in Pink or recreate their photo from when they were 13 to cross out 13 Going on 30. Offer small prizes not just for winning but also for the most creative or funny task completion.

Organising a Valentine’s evening at home

Making a Valentine’s evening at home can turn into a fun party if you follow the tips below!

  • Don’t invite only couples! Make the group diverse to make it more fun.
  • Decorate the house accordingly. You can even add a themed photo booth!
  • Entertain your guests! Now you have two bingo variations for the evening – the romcom bingo, which can culminate at the party, and the 30-ball Valentine’s Bingo you can play for the first time during the get together.
  • You can make your party a potluck. Everyone could bring a love-themed meal or a snack!
  • Add a dress code to the mix! For example, your friends can dress up as their favourite characters from romcoms above!
  • Music makes every party 10-fold more fun, so make sure to make a great playlist!
