Age of the Gods is a Greek mythology slot from Playtech featuring Athena, Zeus, Poseidon, Hercules, Aphrodite and Hades.

The main game uses five reels, three rows and 20 paylines. Matching symbols form wins from left to right, while a golden laurel wreath acts as the Wild. Three or more Age of the Gods logo symbols open a bonus where different Gods unlock their own Free Games features.

A separate mystery trigger can also lead to one of four progressive jackpots. These are Power, Extra Power, Super Power and Ultimate Power.

Playtech launched the Age of the Gods series in 2016. The original game established many of the elements that later releases would continue, including the Greek mythology setting, multiple God-led bonus modes and access to the shared progressive jackpot network.

The slot uses 20 paylines. Regular winning combinations begin on the first reel and continue across neighbouring reels towards the right.

A normal round follows these steps:

1. Select the stake for the next spin.
2. Press the Spin button.
3. Check the paylines for matching symbols.
4. Look for three or more Age of the Gods Scatter symbols.
5. Watch for the mystery jackpot feature after the spin.
6. Review the complete result before starting another round.

Every paid spin produces a separate random result. Previous wins, losses or bonus rounds do not alter the outcome of the next spin.

The reels combine playing-card symbols with characters and objects inspired by Greek mythology.

Queen, King and Ace symbols sit at the lower end of the paytable. A Greek helmet follows them, before the character symbols:

Athena is the highest-paying regular character symbol.

Two additional symbols control the main features.

Laurel Wreath Wild

The golden laurel wreath acts as the Wild.

It replaces ordinary paying symbols when doing so creates a stronger winning combination. It cannot replace the Age of the Gods Scatter.

The laurel wreath can also create its own payline win. Unlike most of the regular symbols, a Wild combination can begin with two matching wreaths on consecutive reels.

Age of the Gods Scatter

The game logo acts as the Scatter.

Three or more Scatters anywhere on the reels award a separate Scatter payout and open the Age of the Gods Bonus. The symbols do not need to follow one of the 20 paylines.

The Scatter can still produce a payout during Free Games, but it does not reopen the Age of the Gods Bonus from inside an individual Free Games round.

Pantheon of Power

Pantheon of Power is a special base-game result involving five different God symbols.

It activates when Athena, Zeus, Poseidon, Hercules and Aphrodite appear consecutively across one active payline. They can land in any order, but the sequence must begin on the first reel and continue across all five reels.

Pantheon of Power awards 200 times the line bet.

This is not a normal five-of-a-kind win. Each reel must show a different member of the required group.

How to Trigger the Age of the Gods Bonus

Land at least three Age of the Gods Scatters to open the bonus selection screen.

Twenty golden coins appear. Each selection can reveal:

• Athena
• Zeus
• Poseidon
• Hercules
• Hades

Match three symbols belonging to the same God to unlock that character’s Free Games feature.

Each God awards nine Free Games, but the reel modifier changes depending on the selected character.

The bonus can contain more than one Free Games round. Once a completed set of nine spins ends, the game returns to the remaining golden coins. Another three matching God symbols may then unlock another feature.

The selection process continues until Hades appears. Hades ends the complete Age of the Gods Bonus and returns the game to the standard reels.

Individual Free Games modes cannot retrigger themselves through Scatter symbols. Further features come from returning to the coin-selection screen after a completed set of spins.

Athena Free Games

Matching three Athena symbols awards nine Athena Free Games.

Before each spin, Athena chooses a multiplier between 2x and 5x. That multiplier applies to qualifying wins from the upcoming Free Game.

The value is selected separately before every spin. It does not remain fixed throughout the complete feature.

One spin may begin at 2x, while the next could use 4x or 5x. Once that spin has ended, Athena selects a fresh value for the following round.

After all nine spins finish, the game returns to the Age of the Gods Bonus selection screen.

Zeus Free Games

Matching three Zeus symbols awards nine Zeus Free Games.

The feature begins with a 1x win multiplier. Zeus increases that multiplier after every third Free Game:

• Spins one to three use 1x
• Spins four to six use 2x
• Spins seven to nine use 3x

An additional Wild remains locked in the centre position of the third reel throughout the feature.

The Wild stays in the same location for all nine spins and can replace regular paying symbols. It cannot replace the Scatter.

Once the ninth spin ends, the game returns to the golden coin screen.

Poseidon Free Games

Matching three Poseidon symbols awards nine Poseidon Free Games.

During each spin, Poseidon may turn up to five reel positions into additional Wilds. The number and position of these Wilds are chosen separately for every Free Game.

Poseidon does not always create exactly five Wilds. Some spins may receive fewer positions.

The additional Wilds replace regular paying symbols but cannot replace the Scatter. A Scatter payout can still count when the original symbol is covered by one of Poseidon’s Wild positions.

The temporary Wilds disappear after the result has been settled. New positions may then be chosen for the following spin.

Hercules Free Games

Matching three Hercules symbols awards nine Hercules Free Games.

A stacked Hercules Wild covers the entire third reel throughout the feature. Every position on that reel therefore acts as a Wild during each of the nine spins.

Further Hercules symbols that appear on the other reels also act as Wilds.

These additional Hercules symbols are not held for later rounds. They apply to the spin on which they appear, while the full third reel remains Wild for the complete feature.

After the nine Free Games finish, the game returns to the bonus selection screen.

Age of the Gods Progressive Jackpots

Age of the Gods connects to a four-tier progressive jackpot network.

The four jackpots are:

Power

Power is the first and smallest jackpot tier.

Extra Power

Extra Power is the second level in the jackpot ladder.

Super Power

Super Power sits above Extra Power as the second-highest progressive prize.

Ultimate Power

Ultimate Power is the largest of the four Age of the Gods jackpots.

The amounts change as activity across the connected network contributes to each prize. Once a jackpot is awarded, its displayed value resets before beginning to grow again.

For that reason, permanent jackpot amounts should not be added to the page.

How the Jackpot Feature Works

The progressive jackpot feature operates separately from the Age of the Gods Bonus.

It can activate through a mystery trigger after a paid spin. A standard payline win is not required for the jackpot feature to appear.

Twenty golden coins are shown on a separate screen. Select the coins one at a time to reveal the four jackpot names.

The round ends when three matching jackpot symbols have been uncovered. The matching symbols determine whether the prize is Power, Extra Power, Super Power or Ultimate Power.

Every completed jackpot selection awards one of those four tiers.

The coin choices provide the visual presentation of the result. They do not allow the player to predict or control which jackpot will be awarded.
