Play Sahara Riches: Cash Collect

Sahara Riches Cash Collect is a five-reel Playtech slot set beside a palace in the desert.

The game looks traditional at first. There are three rows, 30 fixed paylines and a familiar mixture of card ranks and themed symbols. The right-hand reel changes things. A Cash Collect symbol can appear there and collect special symbols from the rest of the grid.

Depending on what has landed, the same collector can award coin values, activate Free Games or reveal one of four fixed prizes.

Playtech released Sahara Riches in 2021 as the first game in its wider Cash Collect range. The studio built the mechanic around one special symbol that collects on-reel prizes and determines how many Free Games are awarded. Sahara Riches added its own twist by allowing Cash Collect symbols to remain locked during the bonus.

All 30 paylines remain active on every paid spin. Regular combinations form when three or more matching symbols appear across consecutive reels from left to right, starting with the first reel.

Each round follows the same basic pattern:

1. Select the stake for the next spin.
2. Press Spin and wait for the five reels to stop.
3. Check the paylines for matching symbols.
4. Look for coins, numbered symbols or Diamonds across the grid.
5. Watch reel five for the Cash Collect symbol.
6. Any eligible special symbols are collected when both parts of the feature land together.

A Coin, Diamond or numbered symbol does not activate its feature by itself. The Cash Collect symbol must appear during the same result.

The regular symbol set combines card ranks with objects from the desert setting.

Jack, Queen, King and Ace make up the lower side of the paytable. The higher symbols include an hourglass, dagger, perfume bottle, jade camel and treasure chest.

A veiled woman acts as the Wild. She replaces the regular paying symbols when that substitution creates or improves a line win. The Wild does not replace Coins, Diamonds, numbered Free Games symbols or the Cash Collect symbol.

The figures below are shown as multiples of the line bet. Sahara Riches uses 30 fixed paylines, so these should not be described as multiples of the full stake.

Four types of special symbol control the main features.

Cash Collect Symbol

During the base game, Cash Collect appears on reel five.

It acts as the switch for the other special symbols. When it lands, the game checks the remaining reels for Coins, numbered Free Games symbols and Diamonds.

Cash Collect does not substitute for regular symbols or create a normal payline result.

Coin Symbols

Each Coin carries a value linked to the selected stake.

A Coin only pays when Cash Collect lands during the same spin. When several Coins are visible, the game collects all their displayed values and adds them together.

Numbered Free Games Symbols

The blue Free Games symbols display a positive number.

When Cash Collect appears alongside one or more of them, their values combine to decide how many Free Games begin. For example, a +2 symbol and a +5 symbol would award seven spins.

The symbols are not all fixed at +3, so the existing explanation should be corrected.

Diamond Symbols

A collected Diamond awards one of the four fixed Cash Collect prizes.

Diamonds need the Cash Collect symbol during the same result. They do not form standard combinations across the paylines.

How the Cash Collect Feature Works

Cash Collect can activate during an ordinary spin whenever the collector lands on reel five.

Suppose the grid contains Coins worth 2x, 4x and 10x. When Cash Collect appears, those values combine and award 16x the qualifying stake.

The collector also recognises different special-symbol types during the same result. A spin can contain Coins alongside a numbered Free Games symbol or a Diamond.

Each feature then follows its own rules:

• Coins award their displayed cash values.
• Numbered symbols determine the Free Games total.
• Diamonds reveal fixed prizes.

This makes reel five the most important part of the base game, but the appearance of Coins or Diamonds does not mean Cash Collect is more likely to arrive. Each spin produces a new result.

The Four Sahara Riches Cash Collect Prizes

Sahara Riches contains four fixed prize levels:

• Mini: 20x the stake
• Minor: 50x the stake
• Major: 200x the stake
• Grand: 500x the stake

• Silver Bullet Bandit Cash Collect uses another five-reel, 30-payline format. Its Western setting replaces the desert palace while keeping Coins, Free Games symbols, Diamonds and fixed Cash Collect prizes.
• Queen of the Pyramids Mega Cash Collect expands the collection concept with additional reel rows and a larger range of feature symbols.
• Azteca Cash Collect moves the mechanic into a temple setting and adds wheel features alongside its numbered symbols and collect prizes.

These titles are more closely connected to Sahara Riches than Book of Dead or John Hunter because they use Playtech’s Cash Collect mechanic rather than only sharing a desert or treasure-hunting theme.

Sahara Riches Cash Collect uses one symbol to connect three different features.

Coins need it before their displayed values pay. Numbered symbols need it to open or extend Free Games. Diamonds need it before one of the four fixed prizes can be awarded.

The main difference during Free Games is where the collector can land. It is limited to reel five during the base game, then becomes available across the full grid and locks for three spins during the bonus.
