There’s no shortage of blackjack games in the digital casino space, but Blackjack Classic by Iron Dog aims to cut through the noise with a straightforward, no-nonsense take on the table game classic. With its green felt simplicity and a lack of distracting bells and whistles, this is blackjack for players who appreciate tradition, clean visuals, and a flow that doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel.
Blackjack Classic uses six standard decks of 52 cards (Jokers excluded), all reshuffled after each game round. The game is played against a computerised dealer, and players can stake anywhere from 0.50 upwards. The layout is clean, the controls intuitive, and gameplay hinges on the standard rules: build a hand closer to 21 than the dealer without going bust. Hands are dealt face-up, and you’ll be working with traditional commands like HIT, STAND, and DOUBLE. With no progressive elements or side bets, this version focuses entirely on the core game.
Iron Dog Studio is a name you'll often find attached to clean, efficient RNG table games, and Blackjack Classic slots comfortably into that catalogue. Their roulette and 3D European blackjack variants follow a similar principle — solid builds, no over-complication, and a strong grasp of what makes the classics stick.
Here’s how you can get started and play Blackjack Classic for yourself:

There are no reels, no paylines, and no scatter symbols here. Instead, it’s all about card values. Here’s a breakdown of how they’re counted:
You’ll start with two cards, face-up, and make decisions based on what the dealer shows. Beat the dealer without going over 21, and you could potentially win. A winning standard hand pays 1:1, while a Blackjack (an Ace + 10-value card dealt initially) pays out at 3:2 — unless the dealer also has a Blackjack, in which case it’s a push and your stake is returned.
The crown jewel of the game. A 10-value card (10, J, Q, or K) plus an Ace dealt on the first hand qualifies as a Blackjack and pays out at 3:2. However, if the dealer also draws a Blackjack, the round is a push and no one wins. If the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace, the game offers an Insurance option — more on that below.
If your hand exceeds 21, that’s a bust — your bet is gone. If you and the dealer finish with the same total, it’s considered a push, and your original stake is returned. There’s no bonus for reaching 21 without a Blackjack; that only happens with the opening hand.
Once all player hands are resolved, the dealer reveals their face-down card. If their total is below 17, they must HIT until they reach 17 or higher. Once the dealer stands, the outcome of each hand is determined against their total.
If the dealer’s visible card is an Ace, you’ll have the chance to buy Insurance. It costs 0.5x your original bet. If the dealer does indeed draw a Blackjack, the Insurance pays 2:1. If not, you lose the insurance bet and the round continues as usual.
After the first two cards are dealt, players can choose to DOUBLE. This doubles the stake and grants exactly one additional card. After that, you're locked in - no more hits.
Two cards of equal value? You can split them into separate hands. You’ll need to place an equal bet on the new hand, and you’ll play each independently. However, if you split a hand and draw a 10-value card with an Ace, it’s not considered Blackjack — just a regular 21, which pays 1:1.
