The Irish countryside receives a fairly busy job description in Shamrock Fortunes Deluxe from AGS. Our 5x3 grid combines leprechauns, pots of gold and horseshoes with cash values, coloured clover symbols and an Extra Spins Bonus that can gain several upgrades. Grow Reels can expand the screen, Symbol Upgrade can improve the paytable, and additional spin symbols may extend the round. Apparently, finding one four leaf clover was no longer considered sufficient. 

Across the screen, Irish folklore arrives in full ceremonial dress. Golden borders frame the reels, while leprechauns, foaming beer mugs, horseshoes and bulging pots of coins handle the familiar imagery. Our highest symbols include a smiling leprechaun and a decorative clover medallion, with card ranks filling the lower end of the grid. 

Dark backgrounds keep the gold and green details clear, and the special clovers use blue, red and green centres to distinguish their functions. Feature changes bring the main visual movement. Reels grow taller, cash pots gain multiplier labels and extra spin symbols replace selected prizes. The overall look is traditional rather than subtle, but a game about Irish fortune was unlikely to arrive dressed in beige. 

Card ranks form the lower paying group, followed by horseshoes, a smoking pipe and two familiar pub symbols. Pots of gold, the leprechaun and the clover medallion carry the larger potential values. 

• Cash Pot: Cash Pot symbols can appear on every reel and receive random prize values before each spin. A potential cash result begins when at least one Pot lands on both reel 1 and reel 2, with further adjacent reels able to add more Pot values. 
• Blue Clover: During the bonus setup, blue clovers act as substitution symbols and may activate Grow Reels. They don’t replace Cash Pots or the red and green clovers. 
• Red Clover: Red clovers substitute for regular symbols and may activate Symbol Upgrade. Cash Pots and the other coloured clovers remain outside the substitution. 
• Green Clover: Green clovers perform the same regular substitution role and may activate the Extra Spins Feature. 
• Multiplier Pot: When Grow Reels is active, a special Pot can appear on reel 5 with a randomly selected 2x, 3x or 5x value. Substitution in a Cash Pot result can multiply the total potential Pot prize. 
• Extra Spin Pot: With the Extra Spins Feature active, reel 1 can replace selected Pot prizes with symbols marked plus one or plus two. Those symbols can add the displayed number of spins. 

Cash Pot Prizes 

At the beginning of each spin, every Cash Pot receives a random value based on its reel. Reels 1 and 2 use values from 0.25x to 1x the total stake. Reels 3 and 4 use 1.25x to 3x, while reel 5 uses 2.5x to 8.75x. 

At least one Pot must appear on both of the first two reels for the collection to begin. Further Pots can contribute across adjacent reels from left to right, and each displayed prize is counted once for that Pot. 

Coloured Clover Triggers 

Bonus setup spins place orange clovers across the reels before revealing blue, red or green versions. Each colour corresponds to a different improvement, with Grow Reels linked to blue, Symbol Upgrade linked to red and Extra Spins linked to green. 

When at least one improvement activates, the Extra Spins Bonus begins. Several colours can become active together, allowing the remaining feature spins to use more than one modifier. 

Extra Spins Bonus 

Each activated improvement contributes five spins to the bonus total. A feature triggered during the round stays active for the remaining spins, though each one can activate only once. 

Further blue, red or green clovers may introduce an inactive improvement and add five more spins. This progression gives the bonus more room to develop than many straightforward online slots built around a single free spin rule. 

Grow Reels 

Grow Reels expands every reel to five symbol positions and places 50 paylines in play. A Multiplier Pot can then appear on reel 5 during Extra Spins. 

Before each spin, that Pot receives a random 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier. When the symbol substitutes within a qualifying Cash Pot result, the collected potential prize is multiplied by the displayed value. 

Symbol Upgrade 

The red clover can activate Symbol Upgrade for the remaining Extra Spins. Regular symbols then move towards stronger entries on the paytable when the feature applies. 

This improvement works alongside Grow Reels and the Extra Spins Feature when several colours have activated, so later rounds may use a taller grid, improved regular symbols and additional spin prizes together. 

Extra Spins Feature 

Once the green clover activates this feature, a special Pot appears on reel 1. At the start of an Extra Spin, the Pot changes into either a plus one or plus two symbol. 

These symbols substitute for Cash Pot prizes and can add one or two further spins respectively. The feature remains available for the rest of the bonus after activation. 

Wheel Bonus 

A separate Wheel Bonus can produce one of the game’s potential fixed prize results. The wheel is distinct from the coloured clover improvements, and some bonus upgrades can’t activate on the same spin as the wheel. 

Shamrock Fortunes Deluxe begins on five reels and three rows, with up to 30 ways to form regular potential results. Matching symbols use three, four or five positions, while the Cash Pot system follows its own adjacent reel condition from left to right. 

The mechanics change once Grow Reels activates. Every reel expands to five positions and 50 paylines become available. Coloured clovers substitute for regular symbols during bonus sequences, while special Pots modify cash collections or add spins. Several active improvements can remain in place together until the Extra Spins Bonus ends.

Shamrock Fortunes Deluxe has more machinery behind the shamrocks than the cheerful theme first suggests. Our strongest feature is the coloured clover system, since each trigger can change the remaining bonus in a clear way. Growing reels, improved symbols and extra spin prizes also work sensibly together rather than behaving like three strangers sharing a lift. 

Across online casinos, Irish themed slots are hardly difficult to locate, so the familiar artwork won’t carry the whole review. Some rules around the clover setup and Pot substitutions take time to untangle, and the base grid looks conventional before an improvement activates. Still, our opinion remains positive for readers who enjoy visible bonus progression and cash values with several possible upgrades. The leprechaun has brought paperwork, but at least the paperwork does something.
