Zeus has apparently decided that six reels were getting a little cramped. Fortune of Olympus by Pragmatic Play shifts the familiar thunderbolt-and-throne routine onto a 7x7 cluster grid, where five or more connected symbols can create potential wins and tumbles keep successful sequences moving. Multiplier symbols can then change the value of an entire tumble sequence, while Scatter symbols lead into the free spins round. It’s recognisably Olympus, just with considerably more room for the symbols to cause trouble.
Fortune of Olympus keeps the marble, gold and divine theatrics associated with Pragmatic Play’s Greek mythology games, but gives the action a wider stage. Zeus sits beside the reels with glowing blue eyes and his trident at the ready, surrounded by columns, treasure and enough loose gold to make housekeeping on Mount Olympus look distinctly optional.
Rings, helmets, goblets, gems and lightning bolts carry the theme across the grid, with purple, gold and electric blue doing most of the visual heavy lifting. Among mythology-themed online slots, it’s immediately familiar rather than experimental, though the 7x7 cluster board gives the presentation a busier character. The tumble animations also keep the screen moving without burying the symbols beneath unnecessary effects, a sensible choice for a grid that can already become rather crowded.
Potential payouts are based on the size of a connected cluster, with five matching symbols required to begin a potential win.
Multiplier symbols can arrive at any stage of a spin or tumble sequence. Once the tumbling stops in the base game, every multiplier visible on the grid is added together. The resulting value is then applied to the potential win accumulated during that sequence.
Several multiplier symbols can therefore contribute to the same result, rather than each applying independently.
Landing 4, 5, 6 or 7 Scatter symbols activates 15, 20, 25 or 30 free spins respectively.
The multiplier mechanic changes during the feature. Multiplier symbols are added to a running global multiplier that remains active across the round rather than resetting after each tumble sequence. Any later potential win is calculated using that accumulated value.
Another 4 to 7 Scatters during the feature can add a further 15 to 30 free spins.
The reels are replaced by a 7x7 cluster grid, so traditional paylines have no role here. At least five identical symbols need to connect horizontally or vertically to create a potential winning cluster. Diagonal connections do not count.
After a cluster lands, its symbols disappear and the remaining symbols drop into the empty spaces. New symbols then enter from above. Another qualifying cluster starts a further tumble, and this process keeps repeating until no new potential win forms.
That structure makes Fortune of Olympus noticeably different from many Greek mythology games found across online casinos. The familiar multiplier concept remains, but here the size and positioning of connected blocks matter more than aligning symbols across conventional reels.
Greek mythology supplies no shortage of neighbouring gods and thunderbolts, so Fortune of Olympus has a fairly crowded family tree.
Fortune of Olympus makes one sensible change and mostly lets that do the work: the usual Olympus formula now sits on a proper cluster grid. That gives the tumble system more visual logic, and multiplier symbols still provide the end-of-sequence suspense associated with Pragmatic Play’s wider Olympus family.
The free spins round is the stronger part for us because the accumulated multiplier can continue building instead of disappearing after one sequence. We would have liked one more mechanic that felt entirely specific to this instalment, though. Strip away the cluster system and quite a lot of the machinery is familiar. Still, this feels more like a coherent remix than somebody moving Zeus’s furniture and insisting he has a new house.
