Wanted posters, sheriff badges and an unreasonable amount of dynamite set the scene in Most Wanted: Hold & Win. Octoplay keeps the base game compact with a 3x3 grid and 5 fixed paylines, then hands most of the responsibility to Cash Scrolls and Sheriff collectors. Cash values can help activate the Hold & Win feature, where locked Sheriffs gather prizes throughout the respins. Apparently frontier law enforcement now includes a fairly detailed collection system.
Most Wanted: Hold & Win takes us into a sun baked Old West setting surrounded by rocky canyons, wooden structures and wanted posters. Cowboy hats, dynamite, money bags and card symbols fill the reels, while crossed revolvers represent the Wild. Sheriff badges become much more prominent once the main feature begins.
Among Western themed online slots, the presentation sticks closely to familiar frontier imagery. Warm browns, oranges and golds dominate the background, with lanterns and weathered wood helping frame the compact grid. Cash Scrolls and Jackpot Scrolls use stronger gold details so they stand apart from regular symbols. We like that the design doesn't overcrowd such a small reel area. With only nine positions available, adding a saloon band and three horses probably would've been excessive.
The card symbols occupy the lower end of the paytable, followed by the cowboy hat, dynamite and money bag. The Wild carries the largest regular three symbol potential payout.
Cash Scrolls are the main route into the feature system. Up to six can appear during a regular spin, with each carrying one of the predefined cash values.
Whenever a Cash Scroll lands, a coin is sent toward the Sheriff badge positioned above the corresponding reel. That coin has a chance to activate the badge and start Hold & Win. Changes to the Sheriff badge artwork are visual only and don't indicate whether the feature is becoming more likely to trigger.
Sheriff symbols only become active within Hold & Win. Once a Sheriff appears or a badge activates, that collector remains locked for the rest of the feature.
Each Sheriff gathers the prizes shown by Cash Scrolls and Jackpot Scrolls that are present at the same time. Several Sheriffs can therefore collect the same qualifying prizes, with up to six collectors able to become involved during the round.
Hold & Win starts with 3 respins. Regular paying symbols disappear, leaving Cash Scrolls, Jackpot Scrolls, Sheriff symbols and empty positions.
Every new non empty symbol resets the respin counter to 3. Sheriff collectors stay locked until the feature ends, while Cash and Jackpot Scrolls can continue appearing around them.
Up to nine Cash Scroll symbols and four Jackpot Scroll symbols can appear during the feature. Each Jackpot Scroll can appear only once within the same bonus. Cash and Jackpot Scrolls can also attempt to activate another Sheriff badge when they land, adding more potential collectors to the grid.
The round finishes when the respins run out. Collected prizes are then evaluated and awarded as potential payouts.
Four named potential jackpot prizes can appear through Jackpot Scrolls during Hold & Win. The Mini carries x25 of the stake, while the Minor carries x50. The Major rises to x250, and the Grand carries x1000.
When a Jackpot Scroll reveals one of these names, every active Sheriff collector can gather that potential prize. This makes the number of locked Sheriff symbols especially important when Jackpot Scrolls appear later in the feature.
The base game uses 3 reels and 3 rows with 5 fixed paylines. Regular potential wins run from left to right across the defined lines, with the Wild substituting for standard paying symbols.
Most Wanted: Hold & Win keeps the main grid unusually small compared with many current online casinos slots, but the feature structure makes use of the space differently once Hold & Win begins. Standard line evaluation disappears during the respins, and the focus moves entirely to Scrolls, empty positions and locked Sheriff collectors.
Cash Scrolls in the base game also connect directly to the bonus trigger. Their coins interact with the Sheriff badges positioned above the reels, so the feature system begins outside the ordinary payline structure before taking over the grid completely.
These three previously reviewed titles share Hold & Win, respin or cash collection mechanics with Most Wanted: Hold & Win.
Most Wanted: Hold & Win doesn't waste much time pretending the 3x3 base game is the star. The Sheriff collectors are clearly where the interesting part begins, and we like how additional collectors can change the value of later Cash and Jackpot Scrolls without adding too many extra rules.
The Western theme is familiar territory, and cowboy hats, dynamite and wanted posters aren't exactly rare visitors to slot reels. Still, the compact layout suits the feature well. There isn't much room for confusion once the regular symbols disappear and the Sheriffs start collecting.
Our main preference would be for a little more variety outside Hold & Win, since the base game is deliberately straightforward. For fans of collector mechanics and compact respin features, though, the structure gets to the point quickly.
