Brick Snake 2000 takes us back to an era when mobile phones survived pavement drops and their entertainment budget stretched to a pixelated snake. Nolimit City builds the game on a 5x5 grid with 3,125 ways, then introduces xWays symbols and a Moving Wild Snake that crawls across the board creating Wild positions. Snake Spins turn that simple idea into a full collection game with Coins, Eggs, Multipliers and Slayers. The phone may be primitive. The rules certainly aren't.
Brick Snake 2000 commits fully to early mobile phone nostalgia. Pixel art, crude computer windows, SIM cards, CDs, drills and virtual pets give the reels the appearance of software recovered from a very determined flip phone. Even the characters have that slightly cursed early internet look, which feels entirely deliberate.
The colour palette shifts between washed out blues, greys and aggressively bright bonus screens, while the Snake itself looks like somebody drew a reptile with a mouse in 2001 and wisely refused to improve the result. Among online slots, few recent releases push the retro computer aesthetic quite this hard.
Animations follow the same idea. The Moving Wild Snake travels square by square, while Snake Spins resemble a standalone arcade game rather than a conventional slot feature. We wouldn't call the presentation elegant. We would call it extremely committed.
Every regular symbol pays for three, four or five matching symbols. The everyday objects sit at the lower end, followed by four pixelated character symbols.
| Symbol | Payout for 3, 4, 5 of a kind |
|---|---|
| SIM Card | 0.10, 0.15, 0.25 |
| Drill | 0.15, 0.20, 0.30 |
| CD | 0.20, 0.25, 0.35 |
| Virtual Pet | 0.25, 0.30, 0.40 |
| White Character | 0.40, 0.50, 0.70 |
| Dog Character | 0.45, 0.55, 0.80 |
| Cat Character | 0.50, 0.60, 1.00 |
| King Character | 0.60, 1.00, 2.00 |
The xWays mechanic changes how much space a single paying symbol can occupy. After landing, the xWays symbol reveals a regular symbol with one of several possible sizes. Multiple xWays appearing on the same spin always reveal the same symbol type.
That can substantially change the number of matching symbols represented on the grid before the regular ways calculation takes place. A Moving Wild Snake can also interact with an activated xWays position, turning the revealed symbol area Wild.
The Moving Wild Snake travels between 1 and 5 steps after appearing. Forward, vertical and sideways movement are possible, while backwards movement isn't.
Every position crossed becomes a Wild, so the Snake effectively draws a Wild path across the reel area. The interaction with xWays can create much larger Wild positions when the route passes through one of those expanded symbols.
Three or four Scatters activate Snake Spins, with the triggering Scatters creating the initial Snakes. Regular paying symbols disappear from this mode, and the board instead fills with objects that the Snakes can eat.
Each Snake moves until something stops the route. Crossing the edge of the board sends the Snake back onto the corresponding opposite side. When several Snakes are active, movement takes place one at a time beginning with the oldest.
The feature continues while at least one Snake remains alive.
Coins can carry values of x1 through x5, x10 or x100. When a Snake eats one, that value contributes to the potential feature total.
Multiplier symbols carry x1 through x5 or x10. Eating a Multiplier increases the active Coin multiplier, which then applies to subsequently collected Coin values.
The mechanic turns Snake Spins into more of a collection game than a reel bonus, with movement determining which prizes are reached.
Egg symbols can produce additional Snakes. When one is eaten, a new Snake begins from the tail position of the Snake that collected the Egg. Up to three Snakes can be active simultaneously.
Slayers are rather less helpful. These symbols remain sticky, with as many as four present together. A Snake that reaches a Slayer is removed and doesn't return for the next spin.
The UP symbol changes the bonus mode when collected. If a Snake eats one during Snake Spins, Super Snake Spins begin once the existing round has finished.
That creates a route into the stronger version of the feature without requiring five Scatters in the triggering base game spin.
Five Scatters activate Super Snake Spins directly. The basic movement rules remain the same, but this version introduces Collector 2000.
At the beginning of each spin, Collector 2000 adds the total value of all visible Coins to its stored amount. If a Snake reaches the Collector, that accumulated value is added to the Coin counter and interacts with the active multiplier.
Collector 2000 disappears from the current spin if no Snake reaches it within four steps, but returns on the following spin.
Brick Snake 2000 uses a 5 reel, 5 row grid with 3,125 ways to form potential combinations. Regular ways require matching symbols across adjacent reels, while xWays can increase the amount of space represented by a single symbol.
The base game becomes less conventional once the Moving Wild Snake arrives. Rather than simply occupying one reel position, the Snake travels across several spaces and converts the route into Wilds.
Snake Spins then abandon normal ways entirely. Movement becomes the central mechanic, with Snakes travelling around the grid to collect Coins, Multipliers, Eggs and other feature symbols. That shift makes Brick Snake 2000 mechanically much closer to a miniature arcade game than most online casinos releases built around fixed reel behaviour.
A few previously reviewed games come reasonably close through retro visuals, moving characters or unconventional grid mechanics.
Brick Snake 2000 is one of those games where the theme and mechanics genuinely feel built together. The Moving Wild Snake could've been a decorative Wild with a funny name, but Nolimit City instead lets the creature travel across the grid, interact with xWays and eventually take over an entire bonus mode.
Snake Spins are the standout for us. Coins, Eggs, Slayers and Multipliers turn each round into a small pathfinding exercise, while Super Snake Spins add Collector 2000 without abandoning the basic movement rules.
The presentation will probably divide opinion. Pixelated characters, fake computer screens and aggressively retro graphics aren't exactly subtle. We think that awkwardness is part of the joke. Brick Snake 2000 suits anyone who prefers unusual mechanics and isn't emotionally attached to smooth edges or modern interface design.
