A black hole, squishy aliens and a reel grid that refuses to keep the same height set the tone in Reactoonz Blitzways. Play'n GO rebuilds the familiar Reactoonz world around a 5 reel cascading layout with between 2 and 7 symbols on each reel and up to 16,807 Blitzways. Connected clusters create Wilds, while Cosmic Prize and Free Spins bring pick prizes and sticky multiplier mechanics. We apparently needed quantum physics with our cartoon blobs this morning.
Reactoonz Blitzways leaves the planets off screen and drops the grid in front of a swirling black hole. The symbols do most of the visual work. Blue, orange, green and pink Reactoonz fill the higher end, while the card ranks look like inflated jelly lettering. Electric blues, purples and neon outlines keep the scene bright against the darker space background.
Among online slot games, the look is unmistakably playful. The creatures bounce and react during cascades, while arcade sounds and upbeat electronic music keep the mood deliberately light. The Reactoonz still resemble cheerful lab accidents, and Blitzways hasn't made them any more sensible. We like the restrained background because the changing reel heights, cascades and Wild effects already keep the centre of the screen busy enough.
The card ranks make up the lower end of the regular paytable, while four coloured Reactoonz carry the larger potential payouts. The symbols below are arranged from the smallest to the largest five symbol value.
Bonus symbols landing during the base game feed Gargantoon, and a collection can randomly activate Cosmic Prize. The feature presents 15 clickable orbs, with each orb hiding either a potential cash value or an eligible Cashpot result.
The round continues until three matching prizes have been revealed. Regular potential values include x5, x7.5, x10, x15, x20, x25 and x30 of the triggering stake. The Mini, Major and Grand Cashpots correspond to x50, x150 and x1000 respectively, but a Cashpot can only appear when the matching Bonus symbol was part of the trigger.
If the same triggering round also contains three Scatters, Free Spins begin after Cosmic Prize finishes.
Three Scatters collected during a single round activate 8 Free Spins. Two Wilds are created in random grid positions at the beginning of the feature, and all Wilds remain sticky throughout the round.
A single Scatter landing during Free Spins adds another 2 spins. Further Scatters can continue extending the round, with the total number of Free Spins capped at 48.
Wilds become more important during Free Spins because qualifying clusters can turn them into Multiplier Wilds. When a cluster uses one or more Wilds, the resulting multiplier depends on the Wilds and existing multipliers involved in that combination.
If several clusters use the same Wilds, their effects can combine into a stronger Multiplier Wild. Because Wilds remain sticky during the feature, these multiplier values can continue affecting later cascades rather than disappearing after one use.
Reactoonz Blitzways runs across 5 reels, but each reel can contain anywhere from 2 to 7 symbols on a spin. That shifting layout creates up to 16,807 Blitzways.
Potential payouts require at least three matching symbols to form a connected cluster across at least three reels. Symbols must touch horizontally or vertically, so the mechanic works differently from a conventional left to right payline setup.
Once a qualifying cluster forms, those symbols disappear and replacements fall into the empty spaces. Cascades continue until no new qualifying cluster appears. Every cluster that doesn't use an existing Wild also creates a new Wild, meaning one successful cascade can alter the conditions for the next one.
Across online casinos, these three previously reviewed titles make useful comparisons through cascading mechanics, unusual creatures or colourful feature systems.
Reactoonz Blitzways feels less like a recreation of the original and more like giving the same aliens a new job. We think the cascading grid suits the Wild creation mechanic particularly well because every successful cluster can change what happens on the next drop.
Free Spins are the stronger part for us. Starting with two sticky Wilds gives the multiplier system something to work with immediately, while extra Scatters can extend the feature without introducing another meter to watch. Cosmic Prize is much simpler beside the cascade mechanics, but that isn't necessarily a drawback. A short match three feature gives the reels a proper break.
The space background is fairly plain, though the busy grid probably benefits from that restraint. Fans of cascades, connected clusters and accumulating Wild multipliers have the clearest reason to appreciate this version.
